Rafiki Rwanda Village- Day 5

Went to bed at 9pm and woke up super early--- 4am--wide awake after 7 hours of sleep, so I opted to hop on out of bed & spend some time on computer-- answering emails and typing a little bit into this blog.

Same schedule today... Joy is gone today with a group that went into town to do the medical screening for 3 little ones that may join the village in the next couple of weeks.  Barb was part of that group, so I'll be able to put some pictures and notes in from her perspective (more to come on that topic).

We finished cleaning the Level 2 kids and got through all the remaining Kindergarten kids by lunch except for 5, which we'll finish up on Monday.

We resumed cleaning the Adult staff teeth after lunch.

On breaks, I helped Will make "slates"... which the ROS staff developed --- very ingenious I might add.  They cut squares of wood and glued a thin strip of formica on them.  Will and I duct-taped the 4 sides to make soft corners.  Walla!  Dry erase boards!  Will got really good at making these... I could make only 1 to his 3 or 4!

I was able to sneak out and play with kiddos during playground time (3:30-4:30 each day), while Sherri was working on her last adult patient.  Sherri is a MACHINE!  She's like the Energizer bunny!  (Barb, how's that for a Metaphor AND a Simile?  Seriously, though, this woman is amazing... her focus and desire to do her very best and utilize all her time for God's Glory is really a motivating quality!  Makes me want to be better!

Below are some of the pics of the kiddos on the playground:

Little Marie (pronounced Mary) with her hands on her hips... can you see attitude?

One of the youngest.. Keza... sweet little thing!

Enid wants to show me how "big" she is!

Dinner tonight was a treat!  We were invited to the Mike & Vicky's cottage (Village director).  Doug and Carolyn & their daughter Sarah was there and the 4 of us MM's (mini-missionaries).  SO. MUCH. FUN!  We had a lovely dinner and played a game of "Outburst".  Boys against girls.  All I'm going to say about that.  :(

Back home at guest cottage I skyped with Jeff & boys (thanks again Will!).  They are leaving Bec's house later today for the Grand Canyon, so nobody was real talkative.  Hope they didn't wear out their welcome!  Please God grant them continued safely and unity.
